We design so other people can be creative and we need more skills

We design so other people can be more creative

And we need more skills

This is my future trends after visit to Stockholm Light and Furniture fair 2018.

My favorite Pick this year……

  1. Furniture, “Risko Table” a collaboration Viarco Portugal Patricio Macedo and and Le Brimet. A traditional old company of pencil manufacturer goes creative and invite talented Architect Le Brimet and his Digitalab Space. The Risko Table is full of tools that enables the buyer to do their own drawings. Drawers of unsuspected sizes and place. My future trend is that we design to make people more Creative. As this is needed in future and in AI, just grab the pen and start.
  2. Light, Lamps from 3 D printer by Product designer and AD Ruy Kozeki His lamps wants us all to get the 3D printer we thought we would get in 2015 but never did. Now we will try to make these lamps but will fail as we don´t have his skills. This means that we will apply to Design schools and Architecture Schools all over the world to get the skills.

The future trends are that, People who have creative skills need more furnitures that enables them to use their skills. More products like this will reach the market soon. Second the people that don´t have the creative skills will notice this when they start to get the technical tools that enables but that instead ” Helps as a stealer” you get noticed that you can develop your skills and talent, but you need education to get further.

All this is necessary in future and in AI, “We need to get more creative to survive technology.” We also need to be more fluent and reinvent ourself all of the time. But Still need 10 000 hours of practice. A period of five years is perfect to get deep into new profession. And then you have to be fluent between professions this is the future. Who you are gets more important, your personality and your genuine thoughts will be a part of your profession.

A also liked My Magnusson from Capellagården and her classic but modern bench in French Walnut. And the Finnish Finartedesign that use sustainable design  and traditional metods in their handwoven textiles.  Italian Manufactor F.lli rossetto develops new materials in there new chair and Michele from Export Departement tells me more on the cost of production and Sustainability,  but they still have to develop I think, as the cost of the new chair is cheaper but the cost to make the mold is more expensive so it will not be cheaper anyway. I ask if they have shops to recycle and to get a new chairs, but no not in that way. This I think is necessary in future to recycle this kind of material  in a more efficient way. The most fun presskit was the “Big design comes in small boxes” a 3 D mini Hologram from Happynest that you can use on your phone on their app and view furniture trough this. This Happynest that tells us more about the furniture fair in general as they company are selling so many different products that look a bit boring and not modern or inventing or anything new at all but instead look quiet good and sleek , that furniture and lighting  is a Happy nest, but we really have to think about it for a while. Do we really want more furniture and lighting at all, do we really need them and are they sustainable to life and to our self. Maybe we just need a Risko table and a 3 D Printer to be aware of our skills.

Next week I will visit the Antiques fair in Stockholm.
